For coaches

Replace your paper team stats sheet

If you still mark goals, marks, and minutes on a clipboard, you already know the pain: wet paper, missing sheets, and a Sunday night spent typing numbers into a spreadsheet.

StatsMapp is a free app for Australian clubs that lets you record team stats on your phone or iPad during the game and keep a match history — without a clipboard. Individual players track their own player stats in their own accounts.

Built in Australia for grassroots football (AFL), basketball, netball, soccer, rugby league, and cricket. Coaches can use it for teams of any age. Player accounts are for athletes aged 13 and over, with parent consent for ages 13–14.

How to record team stats during a game on your phone

  1. Download StatsMapp on iPhone, Android, or iPad and create a free account.
  2. Switch to Teams mode and create your team (or join one with an invite code). Career tracking stays in Players; team totals live here.
  3. Build the roster — add names once and reuse them every week. Roster names do not need a player account; share the join code if linked roster members want an account.
  4. Start the match from the sideline when the whistle goes.
  5. Tap +/− for team totals during the match. Sport-specific buttons (goals, marks, and other team plays for that code). Advanced team totals stay available on a free coach account. One-thumb entry designed for game day.
  6. After the siren, team totals and match history stay in the app. No retyping from a crumpled sheet. Personal player logs are not reconciled to coach totals.

You do not need Premium to run free game-day team stats, roster, invites, or a tactics whiteboard. Guest saves 1 game and a free Basic player account saves up to 20 personal games; that cap is not a coach game-day limit. Coach Complete adds match film (record, pause/resume, half-time TV review, cloud library you control). Premium players can watch shared film only if you turn sharing on. Saving whiteboard boards to the cloud is Premium — using the board on game day is free.

Paper sheet vs StatsMapp

Job Handwritten sheet StatsMapp Teams mode
Enter stats during the game Pen and clipboard Tap on phone or iPad
Live score for linked team members Yell or group chat Broadcast stats to team — score updates on their phones
Season history Manual spreadsheet later Saved match history in app
Wet weather / lost sheets Common Stats stay on device / account
Cost for basic game day Free (paper) Free for coaches

Paper still works for a one-off scratch game. For a season of junior or senior club footy, netball, basketball, soccer, rugby league, or cricket, an app stops the Sunday data entry.

What coaches get free

Coach Complete (paid) adds match film — record with pause and resume, half-time TV review, and a cloud library you control sharing for. Linked players need a Premium plan to watch shared film. Details and pricing: statsmapp.com.

Sports covered

One app for:

Each sport has its own stats entry screen — not a blank generic sheet.

iPad on the bench

StatsMapp runs on iPad as well as phone. If you prefer a bigger screen for live totals, use the same Teams workflow on iPad. Sport-specific coaching suites (for example dedicated AFL-only tools) exist elsewhere; StatsMapp is the cross-sport option when your club runs more than one code, or you want players and coaches in one app.

Privacy and junior sport

Coaches can run team stats for junior sides of any age — roster names do not need a player account. Player accounts are for athletes aged 13 and over, with parent consent for ages 13–14. Data minimisation (email + sports stats) and no location tracking. Settings → Data & Privacy → Export my data builds a ZIP on the device. See the Child Safety and Privacy sections on statsmapp.com.

Club rollout

Clubs and associations can partner for rollout support, partner codes, and trials. Email admin@statsmapp.com.
